David Yutaka Ige (born January 15, 1957) is an American politician who serves as the eighth Governor of Hawaii. Previously, he was a Democrat in the Hawaiian Senate. In the 2014 gubernatorial election, he won the Democratic primary over incumbent Governor Neil Abercrombie and in the general election over Republican candidate Duke Iona. In 2018 he was re-elected.
