Early life

Ted Ginn Jr. was born on April 12, 1985 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He played with his father, Tedd Ginn Sr., who coaches Glanville High School. Ted played wide receiver, defender, and quarterback for his high school team. From the beginning he stood out in football. In fact, he was named MVP during the US Army All-American Bowl.

Ted also competed in track and field on the Glenville track team. He set the record for the fastest time in his senior year and also won the state title in the 200m. Ted was able to complete the course in 21.51 seconds. He was supposed to compete in the 2008 Summer Olympics, but his athletic career was put on hold when he began to excel in soccer.

Ginn began playing quarterback at The Ohio State University. In the 2004 season he received 25 receptions for 359 yards. In his first season, he helped his team win the Indiana 307. He began playing wide receiver in his sophomore year and was later named the starter.

Ted played for Ohio State during the 2006 season, where he had 125 receptions in 37 games. He began his professional career in 2007 after being selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2007 NFL Draft.
