Early life
Ryan Leslie was born on September 25, 1978 in Washington DC, United States. His parents were Salvation Army officers, thanks to which he lived in different states, cities and towns. He knew how to play by himself from a young age. Even at a young age, Leslie quickly developed the ability to arrange chords and recite notes.
Leslie attended Bear Creek High School, where she scored a 1600 on the SAT. He then applied to four different universities: California, Stanford, Harvard, and Yale. Despite being accepted by all universities except Stanford, he eventually settled at Harvard College.
Ryan has a Harvard degree in political science and macroeconomics. During his time at Harvard University, he spent many hours creating and developing music. During this time, he also learned basic production techniques on his own and later developed his own musical style.

Leslie was only 19 years old when he graduated from college, so he convinced his parents to let him pursue his musical dream. He then remained in Boston for some time. There he performed community service, which helped him work on his music. He spent his nights working on his music in the recording studio.
Leslie released the title track of her new album Transition in December 2007. She played pop singer Cassie on her second song Addiction, on which she rapped. On March 23, 2009, she released her third song How It Was Must To Be. To date, she has released eight albums. Her latest musical project Fleurier Flows (EP) was released in 2019.
Leslie was also a successful producer. Along with online marketing partner Rashid Richmond, she founded her music media company, NextSelection Lifestyle Group.
