Early Life
Rick was born on October 27, 1959 in Ogdensburg, New York. He studied at the Central High School of Lisbon. He then enrolled at the University of Maine in 1979, where he was an active college basketball player. Rick then moved to the University of Virginia, where he also served as a teammate during the 1983-1984 season.
