Raymond Santana was born on September 7, 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Much of the information about his early life is still missing. He graduated from Bronx Preparatory High School in 2017.

Raymond, 14, was arrested along with his four friends Antron McCray, Yousef Salam, Kevin Richardson and Corey Wise in the infamous Central Park jogger rape case. He was convicted in the assault and rape case of New York runner Trisha Ellen Meili, who was brutally assaulted and raped.
In a second trial in a New York court, Raymond and four other friends were sentenced to between 5 and 15 years in prison. They were all arrested and served prison sentences until a serial rapist named Matías Reyes confessed to his crime of raping and killing runner Trisha in Central Park.
On December 19, 2002, the convictions of Raymond and his four friends were overturned. The decision was made on the recommendation of the Manhattan District Attorney. Due to a bad police investigation, Raymond spent 5 years of his teenage years in prison.
