Rachel Ray was born on August 25, 1968, in Glen Falls, New York. Ray and her family moved to Lake George, New York when she was only 8 years old. As a child, she saw her mother running restaurants in the metropolitan area. As she got older, Ray started working at the dessert counter at Macy’s Marketplace and later worked at the Agata & Valentina grocery store.

Ray started working at the Mister Brown pub and later worked for Cowan and Lobel. It is these first days of work that will inspire him to create a show called “30 Minutes of Food” that will become very popular. This show will open up more opportunities for her, as her growing popularity has led her to be approached for other shows as well.

The reason Ray has resonated with so many people is because his recipes are down to earth and easy to make at home. Spectators of the show not only have to drool over the dishes, but can also prepare them from readily available ingredients.
