Otto Wichterle is a Czech chemist known for developing modern contact lenses. He is a leading figure in the scientific world and has more than 180 patents and 200 publications to his name.
He has been president and president of several renowned scientific institutions and has written two major dissertations in plastics chemistry and engineering. He too was imprisoned for several months in 1942. He left behind a wife and two children. In October of this year, Google dedicated a doodle to him on its home page.

He studied at the Wolverine Gymnasium, and then entered the Czech Technical University. He studied chemical and technological sciences at the university and graduated in 1936, but then he stayed. In 1939 he obtained his doctorate in chemistry, but for political reasons he was unable to continue his research. However, he joined the Bath Institute and continued his work there.
