Early Life
Mat Franco first saw a magic show on television when he was four years old. This led him to persuade his parents to buy a magic set, his first exposure to magic from him. Even in kindergarten he has already invented his first tricks. He also received support from his grandmother, who was Mat’s assistant with his magic tricks.
By age 12, he had saved enough to study performing arts in Las Vegas. Mat attended Johnston High School and graduated in 2006. In addition to magic, he was also on the wrestling team. To further his studies, he went to the University of Rhode Island, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

One of his first professional appearances was when he appeared on a show called Stars of Tomorrow at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. At that time, Matt was only 15 years old. Later, after graduation, Mat went on a six-month tour of various colleges, performing his own shows.
This earned him the title of Best College Artist from Campus Activity magazine. However, his real popularity grew when he decided to participate in the ninth season of America’s Got Talent in 2014. During the audition, Mat performed a card trick that impressed the judges.
In the following weeks, he began to offer one-off shows, also including members of the jury as assistants in magic trick shows. Since his performances could also attract local audiences, he became a fan favorite and, by finishing in the bottom six, was declared the winner of the ninth season of the competition.
After this feat, Mat received many offers and performed regularly in Las Vegas, where he received numerous awards for his performances. He has consistently had some of the highest performance numbers of any Las Vegas magic show. One of his most popular shows is “Mat Franco: Magic Reinvented at Night”, later renamed “The Best Magic Show in Las Vegas”.
Mat regularly returns to America’s Got Talent as a featured artist and also returns to his alma mater, where he hosts study sessions for participating students. In 2020, he signed a 5-year contract with Caesars Entertainment for his exclusive show in Las Vegas.
