Deion Sanders was born on August 9, 1967 in Fort Myers, Florida, United States. He was fond of sports from an early age. Sanders followed his athletic dream by attending North Fort Myers High School, where he could read and write. He later became an AllState winner in football, baseball, and basketball.

Sanders was about to start his baseball career by signing with the Kansas City Royals. He was selected by the Royals in the 1985 Major League Baseball Draft, but ultimately decided not to sign with the Royals. He then enrolled at Florida State University, where he was active in soccer, baseball, and track and field.
