Early Life

Daniel John Bongino was born on December 4, 1974 in New York. He attended Archbishop Molloy High School and then Queens College, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology. Bongino then enrolled at Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a master’s degree in business administration.

Privately, Dan Bongino is married to Paula Andrea, who was born in Colombia. Together they have two daughters and currently reside in Palm City, Florida.

Before joining the US Secret Service, Bongino spent nearly 4 years with the New York City Police Department. In 1999 he joined the special services as a special agent. In 2006 he was assigned to the Presidential Guard during George W. Bush’s second term. He remained active in the ministry after Barack Obama became president. In May 2011 he decided to leave and run for the United States Senate.

Bongino then ran for the United States House of Representatives in Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District against incumbent Democrat John Delaney. He lost to Delaney by just 2% of the points. He then moved to Florida in 2015 and ran for Florida’s 18th Congressional District in 2016. He finished third in the primary, losing the nomination to Francis Rooney.

Bongino has written several books on his own behalf. His debut in Life Inside a Bubble deals with his career as a secret service agent. He talks about his experience defending Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He then published his second book, The Struggle: A Secret Service Agent’s Inside Report on Security Failures and the Political Machine, in 2016. Bongino also published a book called Spy Gate: Donald J. Trump’s Sabotage Attempt, in which he describes the theory. who was spying on Donald Trump from the Obama administration.

Also, Bongino often appears on media shows. He is a frequent guest on the Sean Hannity and Mark Levin radio shows and their FOX news broadcasts. In December 2019, he launched the Bongino Report website as an alternative to the conservative Drudge Report website.
