According to Wikipedia, Wilsey committed suicide in 1994 by shooting himself after a car accident.
On the night of July 11, Wilsey was involved in a car accident with her Corvette, breaking her nose and bruising her face.
Shocked by the accident, she drove home to Universal City, asked a friend to walk her dog, and then called her manager, Nancy Pera. It was Peru that Wilsey discovered later in the garage of Wilsey’s house.
Wilsey did not die immediately, dying hours later in hospital after his father decided to take him off life support when it became clear he would not survive the injury.
Wilsey’s ex-boyfriend, comedian Pauly Shore, said he was with her when she died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank.
Wilsey’s funeral was attended by friends, family, and a limited number of adult industry employees two days later. Shore was the only one of his ex to join the service.
Of Wilsey, Shore said, “She was the kindest, most beautiful girl I have ever known … [her death] was very dramatic to me.” Savannah became her character, who was on drugs and constantly needed to be checked out. She forgot who Shannon was… she Knew she wanted to leave.
Wilsey’s death was the third high-profile suicide in the porn industry.
After her death, Bill Margold founded Protecting Adult Welfare (PAW), a non-profit organization that provides counseling to adult artists in need.
His body was cremated and the ashes were given to family and friends.
