Ron was born on May 3, 1935 in Manhattan, New York. Popeil’s parents divorced when he was only six years old. As a result, he grew up with his grandparents. At the age of 17 he started working for his father’s company called Popeil Frères. Then, when he was 18 years old, Popeil entered the University of Illinois.
