Early life
Jim Jones was born Joseph William Jones II on July 15, 1976 in New York, United States. He was born to Puerto Rican Joseph Guillermo and African American Nancy Jones.
Jones spent most of her early days with her maternal grandmother. To study, he entered a Catholic school. However, he skipped classes mainly due to skipping school at the training station.
Jones was later expelled from school for selling candy he had stolen from a store owner near the church where he studied. Growing up, he began to take music seriously and decided to become a rapper in the future. He took the first step towards his musical dream when he formed a trendy band called The Diplomats with his childhood friend Camron in 1997. He later joined the group in 1999.
