Career
Nitesh Rane started his career after returning to India from the UK. He joined his father when he left Shiv Sena and joined the Congress in 2005.
He founded the non-governmental organization Swabhiman Sanghatana, which deals mainly with social issues such as youth unemployment, health care and basic services throughout Maharashtra and particularly in Mumbai. His organization also holds the world record for hosting the largest job fair, offering 25,000 jobs for unemployed youth.
He was also General Secretary of the Mumbai Youth Congress but later resigned due to internal divisions within the Congress party. In 2012, he started an initiative called Maharashtra Kalanidhi to help Marathi theater and cinema. In the same year he also launched the “Sindhudurg Tourist Guide” initiative to offer young people job opportunities in the tourism sector.
In 2014, it also launched an online employment initiative called Naukri Express that offers mobile jobs for young people in Maharashtra. Controversy
Nitesh Rahne was embroiled in controversy in 2009 when he protested the release of the Marathi film Zenda because he said the film’s character resembled his father. After his protest, the producer and director of the film have to make many changes to the film before its release.
In 2010, a small businessman named Chintu Sheikh filed an FIR against Nitesh Rane. Chintu reportedly accused Nitesh of attempted murder. But the case was later investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation, which gave Rain a clear warning.
In 2011, Rain attacked SenaBJP and claimed that he could not stop the Mumbai Water Mafia because the Mumbai Water Mafia was selling water tanks to the poor at higher prices. In 2012, Rein also questioned the work of the Election Commission of India and stated that all Wada Pav properties run by Shiv Sena during the elections should be closed.
In 2013 he was arrested by the police for damaging a toll booth and assaulting its employees.
