Richard Michael DeWine (born January 5, 1947) is an American politician and former attorney who is serving as the 70th Governor of Ohio. A member of the Republican Party, DeWine is a former US Senator, elected in 1994 and re-elected in 2000. In 2006, DeWine ran for a third term, but lost to Democratic US Representative Sherrod Brown.
