Marc Lasry was born on September 23, 1959 in Marrakech, Morocco. He was born to his parents Moisa and Eliza. His father was a programmer and his mother a teacher. He moved to the United States with his family when he was 7 years old. Mark spent his childhood in West Hartford, Connecticut.

For education, he entered Clark University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 1981. He later enrolled in New York Law School. In 1984 she received a law degree from the Faculty of Law.
