Early Life

Kramer was born on February 10, 1955, in Windmoor, Pennsylvania. He attended high school in the city of Springfield. He started studying stocks when he was only in fourth grade. He later entered Harvard College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1977. There he was president and editor of The Harvard Crimson.

He first worked as a journalist. He later went to work for the Tallahassee Democrat and then worked for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. He also survived a terrible accident in which he was robbed and forced to live in his car for 9 months. Kramer later worked as a reporter for American Lawyer and also worked for Jerry Brown, the Governor of California.

In 1984, after working for several years, Cramer decided to pursue a J.D. from Harvard Law School. During this time, she invested and traded in the stock market. He made enough money in the stock market to pay for his college education. Around this time he began investing and exchanging money with others.

Cramer started working as a stockbroker at Goldman Sachs, but left the company after three years. He decided to start his own hedge fund, where he would be a resounding success.
