Early Life
Jermaine’s father was an Atlanta talent manager who helped Dupree get into the music business and acting early. When he was only 10 years old, his father presented the Diana Ross show, where Dupri had the opportunity to dance on stage with Diana Ross herself.
This led Dupree to work as a dancer in the group Whodini, of which he was a part, as a teenager. His first performances included an appearance in one of his music videos called Freaks Come Out at Night. He then performed at various performances across the country, including music festivals.

Dupree began his career through a collaboration with the hip-hop group Silk Tymes Leather. He was also the inspiration behind the formation of a duo called Kris Kross and also helped produce his debut album Totally Krossed Out. It brought great success to both Dupree and Chris Cross, as the album became a multi-platinum success.
She then worked with Xscape where she saw the potential and decided to sign her to her own label. For her, she produced her own album of hers called Hummin’ Comin’ al ‘Cha. This album featured hit singles including Just Kickin’ It which managed to reach number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
