He moved to the West Coast from Los Angeles and took acting classes at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Jake participated in the making of the film and played supporting roles. In 2016, he starred in the drama Goat. The drama focused on psychological and physical trauma in American universities. He also appeared in the drama Patriot Day about the Boston Marathon attack. He took on the role of police officer Sean Collier, who was shot dead by the assassins. In the same year, he also landed a role in another box office hit, Dirty Grandpa.
