Does the generated flame generate heat?

Note that Continuous Flame, in particular, does not generate heat and cannot trigger light.

Interestingly, many flame spells state that they will ignite burning objects but will not produce a flame. It won’t harm you or your gear, and attacking with a spell specifies a creature.

Can you hit with a production flame?

So if you really want to hit someone with the Cantrip product flame you can, but the rules dictate that it would be done to their detriment.

Can flame generation be used in melee combat?

One of my players used Generate Flames as a melee attack. I let him deal the d8 fire and his unarmed smack damage.

Can the generation of flames start a fire?

Create Flame is a useful spell, it lasts 10 minutes, does not ignite or damage the caster while it lasts, and can be used if needed to damage a creature or object when cast.

Choosing to light the area will light a 10 foot radius and dim an additional 10 feet beyond that. The flame stays in your hand for the duration and won’t harm you or your equipment. You can end this spell by canceling it with an action or by casting it again

Is creating a flame a magical fire?

Being underwater does what it says on the tin – if the creature you throw the flame at is fully underwater, it has damage resistance. Flames are magical – they do not react with oxygen
