Gavin Macleod was born Allan George See on February 28, 1931, in Mount Kisco, New York, USA. He was born to parents George and Margaret See. His father, George, was an electrician and his mother, Margaret, worked for the family magazine Reader’s Digest. He had a younger brother named Ronald.
Gavin was interested in acting from a very young age. To pursue an acting career, he enrolled at Ithaca College, graduating with a BFA in 1952. Previously, he worked for several years in the US Air Force. However, he later moved to New York and pursued his career. dream of becoming a famous actor. He soon began working at Radio City Music Hall. During this time, he changed his name to Gavin Macleod.
