Early life

Dominique Wilkins was born on January 12, 1960 in Paris, France. His father was a US Air Force pilot based in Paris. A few years later, his family briefly lived in Dallas and Baltimore. The Wilkins family eventually settled in Washington, North Carolina.

Wilkins graduated from Washington High School. He has been the best on the basketball court since high school. Competing against a high school, he averaged an impressive 48 points on 27 rebounds, 8 blocks and 9 dunks.

Dominique continued her fine game while studying at the University of Georgia. There he played for the Bulldogs varsity basketball team. In 1981, he was named the SEC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. Dominique did not graduate from high school after her freshman year and focused more on basketball.
