Early life
DJ Ashba was born on November 10, 1972 in Monticello, Indiana, United States. He spent his childhood in Fairbury, Illinois. Ashba was introduced to music by his mother at a young age. His mother was actually a classically trained pianist. When he was five years old, he performed his first piano recital, singing Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy”.
Ashba’s interest in music grew as she got older. Having excelled at the piano, she has ambitions to learn the drums. She collected trash cans, pots and pans and played drums on them. When she was six years old, she got a proper battery. She bought her first guitar on her own at the age of 8 after taking a job cleaning corn in the fields. While working, she was introduced to the guitar by a local band guitarist who taught her while driving the same bus she used to do her work with.
Ashba decided that one day he would play live with a rock band when his father took him to a concert to celebrate his 16th birthday. He was completely mesmerized by the crowd, the music, the lights and the musical atmosphere. When he turned 18, he moved to Hollywood and began his musical journey.

In 1991 he joined the band Barracuda. She toured with the group for two years. In 1996 he released his first instrumental album Addiction to the Friction. In 1998 he joined the new group Bullet Boys. Ashba played in the group for a year, until 1999, and started playing in the group Beautiful Creatures. He has been in the group for three years.
In 2002, he focused on his solo music group and soon after formed a solo group called ASHBA. In 2006 she co-founded Funny Farms with musician Nikki Sixx. They wrote, produced and performed music together. She collaborated with Nikki Sixx on a critically acclaimed album titled The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack.
Ashba began her new journey in 2009 as the new lead guitarist for heavy rock band Guns N’ Roses. After playing in the group for six years, on July 27, 2015, she announced that she would be leaving the group to focus on the other group, Sixx:AM, and fulfill her obligations to her family. Ashba announced the formation of a Sixx:AM sister group called Pyrromantic in February 2018.

DJ Ashba is a married man who married actress and model Natalia Henao on September 23, 2013. He first met her around 2010 in Rome. Ashba shared the news of her engagement on Twitter in August 2013. In one tweet, he shared a photo of Henao showing off her engagement ring.
It involved three Las Vegas police officers who helped Ashba make a marriage proposal to his then-girlfriend Henao. Three officers took Ashan and Henao into a police helicopter, where Ashba proposed to Henao. However, upon suggestion, the department cited three police officers for using a police vehicle without a permit.
