Early Life
Cooke was born on August 10, 1995, in West Little River, Florida. He attended Miami Central High School, where he started playing soccer. He played little football his junior year, but as a senior in 2013 he was aiming for a national record with 1,940 yards and 34 touchdowns on 177 carries and three defensive interceptions. He led his team to the Class 6A state championship by defeating Seffner Armwood. In the same year, he was named Mr. Florida Football.

Cook initially attended Clemson University, choosing the University of Florida, but eventually transferred to Florida State University. From 2014 to 2016 he played college football at Florida State University.
As a freshman in 2014, he was named the 2014 ACC Championship MVP after rushing for 177 yards on 31 carries and a quick touchdown against Georgia Tech for 177 yards. He finished the year with 10,008 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 22 receptions and 203 receiving yards. Cook finished his 2015 season with 1,691 yards, 19 touchdowns, 24 receptions, 244 receiving yards, and one touchdown.
In the 2016 season, he finished his career with 4,464 yards. He also helped his team win the Orange Bowl against the University of Michigan. Hours after winning the trophy, he announced that he would be forgoing his senior season to participate in the NFL Draft.
Dalvin Cook was selected by the Vikings in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. His first NFL game was against the New Orleans Saints, where he set an Adrian Peterson record with 127 rushing yards in 22 games. In his rookie season, he finished with 354 yards.
Cook missed most of the 2018 season due to injury. He finished the 2018 season with 615 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 40 receptions for 305 yards and two touchdowns.
2019 was the most successful year of his professional career. Against the Dallas Cowboys he had 26 rushes for 97 yards, one touchdown and 7 passes for 86 yards. He was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Year for his brilliant play. He finished the 2019 season with 1,135 yards, 13 touchdowns and 53 receptions for 519 yards in 14 games.
