Michael William Krzyszewski, also known as Coach K, is an American basketball coach. Mike is best known as the longtime head coach of the Duke Blue Devils. On June 2, 2021, Mike announced that he would step down as Duke's head coach after the 2020-2021 season. As of 2021, Coach K has an estimated net worth of around $45 million.

Early life
Mike Krzyszewski was born on February 13, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. His parents are William and Emily Krzyzewski. For education, he attended St. Helena Catholic School and Archbishop Weber High School. He later attended the United States Military Academy, where he played basketball under basketball coach Bob Knight.

Mike coached the Army basketball team when he was in his college season. He even took his team to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) where his team finished fourth. Mike served as an officer in the United States Army from 1969 to 1974. He served in the Army Command for three years, leading maintenance crews. Mike received the West Point Distinguished Graduate Award in 2005.
Mike was discharged from the Army in 1974, where he rose to the rank of Captain. He then went to work as an assistant basketball coach for the Indiana Hoosiers, where Bob Knight was the head coach. A year later, he returned to West Point and began working as a head coach for Army cadets.

Similarly, Krzyszewski became the highest scoring coach of all time at Mach 19 after Duke defeated Yale in the 2016 NCAA tournament.
On February 16, 2019, Mike became the most successful coach in college basketball history, breaking former college basketball coach Harry Statham’s record. For the first time in Duke Blue Devils history, they were unable to participate in the NCAA tournament in 2021. Mike Krzyzewski is married to a woman named Carol “Mickey” Marsh. He married Carol on graduation day in 1969 at West Point. Mike and his wife Carol have 3 daughters. He also has nine grandchildren. One of his grandsons, Michael Savarino, was with Duke in the 201920 season as a traveling player.
He worked for various charities along with his girlfriend, Carol. He even founded the Emily Krzyszewski Center, a nonprofit organization in Durham. He has also been active in fundraising for Duke Children’s Hospital, the V Foundation for Cancer Research, and the Children’s Miracle Network for many years.
