Christian Bezuidenhout was born on May 18, 1994 in Delmas, Mpumalanga, South Africa. His childhood was not easy after he accidentally consumed rat poison from a can of Coca-Cola when he was two years old. When he was 4 years old, he began to have problems with anxiety and stuttering.
Eating mice became a nightmare for him. Christian faced drug withdrawal after testing positive for beta-blockers during the 2014 Amateur Championships. In fact, he was taking anti-anxiety medication that had been mistaken for drugs.
