Early life and family

Campbell was born on September 1, 1986, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Charles and Nateal Campbell. He has two sisters Kimba Blaylock and Keyonne Campbell and five brothers: Jamar, Raja, Ciarre, Severin and Jared in his family. His father, Charles, was a soccer player who played football for the University of Miami and the Arizona Cardinals. At the same time, his brothers Ciarre and Raj also played college football for Colorado State and Butte Junior College, respectively.

Campbell attended South High School in Denver, Colorado, where he played soccer and basketball. In football, he had a record 57 sacks in his high school career. In basketball he averaged 22.7 points, 16 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game.

Kale has received several offers from universities such as Colorado State, Nebraska, Michigan, Oklahoma and San Diego State, but has chosen to play for Miami.

Campbell played college football from 2005 to 2007. He appeared in 11 games in 2005 and recorded a total of 24 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 3 passing defenses. In 2006 he defended 55 tackles, 10.5 sacks and 4 assists. He also recorded 50 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 3 pass defenses and an interception in his senior year.

In 2008, the Arizona Cardinals selected him in the second round of the NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $3.4 million contract with a $1.68 million guarantee and a $480,500 signing bonus. During his rookie season, he recorded 28 combined tackles, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

His first career start with the Cardinals dates back to 2009 against the San Francisco 49ers. He had a season-high six solo tackles and deflected an assist in the 2016 loss. He finished his second season with the Cardinals with 45 combined tackles, 7 sacks, 5 passes defensed and a forced fumble in 16 games.

Campbell played for the Cardinals from 2008 to 2017 before joining the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2017, he signed a four-year, $60 million deal with a $30 million guarantee and a $6 million signing bonus. He finished his rookie season with the Jaguars with 67 combined tackles, a career-high 14.5 sacks, 3 pass breakups, 3 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in 16 games. In 2018 he was ranked 14th among the top 100 players in the NFL.

Kale played for Jaguar from 2017 to 2019. He was later traded to the Baltimore Ravens. Shortly after the deal, he signed a one-year contract extension.
