His family has been in the scrap business for a long time. In 1980, while digging in his landfill, his father and grandfather found two bottles of early American pottery. Therefore, he began to collect ceramics in the 19th century. He started collecting ancient pottery as early as 1982 and at that time he already had 60 objects.

Regarding his education, he graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1986. He then moved to Long Island University where he studied banking. During this time, she worked at an art gallery in Manhattan.

Adam continued to grow his business by purchasing an 11-acre landfill in Solva, New York from Peter Matlow. Then, between 2012 and 2016, the company acquired a landfill in New Castle and Empire Recycling in Watertown. The company was later collectively named Upstate Shredding – Weitsman Recycling. In addition to his scrap metalwork, he has also invested in real estate in Skaneateles. Adam is also a restaurant owner who built the Elephant and the Dove Mexican restaurant in 2018.
